Robert Gorton is the founder of Gorton & Company, P.C in Danvers, Massachusetts.  Bob has 30 years’ experience providing accounting and tax services to a diverse client base consisting of privately held companies in industries including technology, manufacturing and distribution, leasing and finance, construction, real estate and service providers.  He works closely with client management in analyzing their businesses, formulating short- and long-term business, financial and tax plans, and implementing the steps to ensure success.

Bob regularly provides litigation support in the areas of family law, shareholder and partner disputes, lost profits and economic damages, including expert witness testimony and forensic accounting.  He also has significant experience in transactional consulting with his clients, both on the buy and sell sides, specifically performing due diligence on target business’ financial representations, deal structure and negotiations.

Bob spent five years as the chief financial officer of a privately held distribution company where he was responsible for all aspects of financial management, as well as human resources, and general operations. He played a significant role in the company’s early-stage growth, in obtaining increased working capital funding, and the sale of a large portion of the company to a strategic investor.
